You make a refreshing, stylish statement. What woman do you design for?
Bold and sassy women of all ages. Our designs cater for both outgoing or more modest customers who want an exciting new addition to their wardrobe.
Does your scottish heritage effect your ideas?
Yes we feel that our designs have a Scottish look to them, we love Scotland and are very proud of our heritage.
What made the bigest influence on you?
We are constantly inspired and influenced by many different things but we are always looking at couture embroidery, lace vintage patterns and prints. For our AW09 collection ‘Russian Dolls’ we were looking at vintage Russian prints and fairy tales. |
How receptive do you find scottish women to your designs?
Scottish women have been very receptive to our designs as they love to dress up on cold nights! Our tights add sparkle and interest to your legs giving them a fun element.
I love the “bunty” “feather” & “fringed Roxy” Is it important for you to keep your designs exclusive? - like in the Laura Lee case last year?
Our designs for our collections are exclusive to Bebaroque in the way that we sell them to our stockists and on our website only. We sometimes cater to other designers with exclusive collections such as the Laura Lees collection and Lascivious. It is a nice thing to do for other designers and adds lots of different levels to our work.
Many young designers have upped and moved to work in London is this next on your cards?
We definitely will not be moving to London any time soon. We love visiting London as we have many friends there but being part of Scotland is very important to us and has had great results for us. In this day and age it is so easy to get a train or flight down to London so it is really not a problem for us.

What are the three must have pieces in your personal wardrobe?
A pair of Bebaroque Tights – a Bebaroque Body – A pair of Charlotte Olympia shoes.
Having done London Fashion week and won the scotish fashion awards, what's your next goal?
We would love to win more awards as that was so much fun. Our goal is to keep building our business successfully. We will be showing again at London Fashion Week Feb 09.
